Carlee specialty is working with young children and adolescents using play and expressive therapy techniques. She is client-centered therapist; believing everyone possesses unique strengths which can be highlighted and utilized in therapy. She utilizes play, art, sand tray and other creative interventions to allow for expression of feelings and emotions in children. Carlee also utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) informed approaches and other strength-based techniques to help clients maximize overall wellbeing. She assist clients struggling to navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions or other emotional regulation.
As a therapist to children, she can help children increase self-esteem, develop appropriate coping skills, decrease angry or anxious behaviors and learn self-control while nurturing their creativity. As a therapist to teens, she can help to decrease anxiety and depression symptoms, work through difficult periods in their lives and cultivate hope for their future.
Carlee enjoys working with people ready to create stronger skills for improving their mood, creating effectiveness in their lives and growing stronger relationships. As these goals can feel like a big undertaking, she strives to create a collaborative working relationship that remains focused on your priorities and what genuinely works for you. Helping families and individuals reach their desired outcomes and doing so in a safe environment has always been a passion of hers.
Carlee obtained her Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has experience working in a CORE agency setting as an outpatient play therapist. In this setting, she has worked with children as young as 4 years old, teenagers, young adults and is certified to facilitate PREPARE/ENRICH premarital therapy for couples.
