Brett Newton, LAPC

Kingsland and Brunswick Locations

Therapist

Brett came aboard Emerald Isle Counseling in 2021, and with him he brought his positive upbeat attitude and 15 years experience in helping professions.  Working in school counseling, mental health, social work, substance abuse, and camp counseling has made Brett quite versatile.  Here in the Golden Isle’s, Brett worked at Glynn County Schools before coming on full-time with Emerald Isle in the Summer of 2024.

At Emerald Isle, he provides individual, family and group counseling and is open to working with children and adults at all phases of life!

Moving to the Golden Isles from Ohio, Brett and his family adore living in this beautiful community.  In addition to Brett’s professional experience, he and his wife, Gretchen, are raising 5 awesome kids, Silas, Salem, Solomon, Sonnet and Sonora, a Golden Doodle, Sweetums, and two cats, Dobby and Jenny.  They enjoy an active lifestyle in the Golden Isles and you’ll probably meet them at Brunswick’s First Friday or walking the surf at Gould’s Inlet.

Brett attended Berea College (KY) where he earned a background in Child & Family Studies. Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree he then attended Northern Kentucky University where he was trained and earned his master’s degree as a school counselor.  While Brett has a passion for serving youth in schools as a counselor, he went back to start his Doctorate at the University of Cincinnati where he completed additional coursework required to be a clinical mental health therapist.
Brett has been with Emerald Isle Counseling for the last 3 years and is looking forward to serving this community for many years to come!
