Denise is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. She earned a masters degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Illinois University.
Denise has 37 years of experience working with individuals who have mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, self esteem problems, addiction problems, trauma and adjustment disorders.

Christian King has extensive experience working with all ages in a wide variety of areas.
He taught in the Chattanooga/Hamilton County, TN school system for 3 years and working as a social worker and therapist in Project G.R.A.D. Knoxville; a private organization that partnered with the public school system.

Brett is a therapist with a broad background of experiences and training that he brings into his clinical practice. He attended Berea College (KY) where he earned a background in Child & Family Studies. Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree he then attended Northern Kentucky University where he was trained and earned his master’s degree as a school counselor.

Payton attained her Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Georgia Southern University then went on to complete her MA at the University of the Cumberlands in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She enjoys providing her clients with the support they need throughout their counseling journey.

Shane is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from College of Coastal Georgia and MS in Psychology from Valdosta State University. Shane has primarily worked in community based mental health and has experience working with a diverse range of populations and ages.

She is now pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valdosta State University and she will be under the supervision of our Clinical Director.

She has more than 19 years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, throughout the lifespan, in both public and private settings.

Clay has been helping individuals find meaning through difficult life situations and fostering human development for over 15 years. Before becoming a counselor, he lived abroad and worked for top-tier international schools in an educational capacity helping unique teens and young adults with challenging issues and little cultural support or understanding.

She has spent many years in the healthcare industry prior to beginning her path as a therapist.

Becca graduated May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southern University. She is currently working on her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and will be under the supervision of our Clinical Director.

Dr deBeus specializes in psychological assessments with children through adults; age range of six to 90. Dr. deBeus works with a wide range of individuals possibly struggling with ADHD, learning problems, behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, memory problems and head injuries.

Chelsea comes from a background in acute healthcare and hospice management for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University. Recently she managed over one hundred employees from various professional backgrounds for a large hospice provider; her passion is being a resource to all in need.
Shayna Valerio
Administrative Assistant
Shayna spent most of her life in Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2016 with her Bachelor’s in Business Management. She moved to the coastal area in 2017 with her daughter to join her parents who started a small business. As the client services administrator, her job is to oversee the office operations and she is committed to making the patients and their families experience a positive one. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and working on her medical billing and coding certification.
Amanda Fair

Amanda joined Emerald Isle Counseling in the spring of 2023, bringing with her over 10 years of billing experience in the medical field.
Amanda resides in Brunswick with her husband and two children. She enjoys her time off with days on the beach, live music, travelling, and cheering on the UGA Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!
